Marc Richards set to return to Swindon squad for Tranmere clash

Marc Richards will return to the Swindon squad for Saturday’s League Two showdown with Tranmere.

The striker has not played since undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury suffered in pre-season but has made a quicker-than-expected recovery and while he may not be fit to start, he could make the matchday squad.

Defender Dion Conroy could also return after sitting out Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup defeat by Forest Green with a knee problem as a precaution.

Midfielder James Dunne is available after suspension following his red card on the final day of last season but striker Kaiyne Woolery remains three to four weeks away from resuming training after a knee injury.

Tranmere boss Micky Mellon will be without defenders Ritchie Sutton and Zoumana Bakayogo.

The pair have undergone scans on leg and calf injuries respectively and will be unavailable this weekend.

Fellow defenders Adam Buxton (double hernia), Liam Ridehalgh (knee) and Evan Gumbs (leg) remain on the long-term casualty list.

Summer signings Mark Ellis and Paul Mullin both made debuts in the midweek cup defeat by Walsall and will hope to retain their places.
