Partey on Premier League interest
According to ESPN, Manchester City and Arsenal are interested in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey.
Partey is said to have a €50m buyout clause that several Premier League clubs are reportedly willing to meet.
The midfielder also seems open to a Premier League move. Speaking in an interview last year, Partey stated:
"The Premier League is a good league, it's very competitive and has some of the best players in the world.
"Hopefully, one day. I would like to play there."As quoted by ESPN.
Partey is a product of Atletico's youth system and has made 131 appearances across all competitions for the La Liga outfit.
In those 131 games, Partey has scored 11 and assisted 10.
Partey has also made 34 appearances this season, scoring two and assisting five.
Fernandinho replacement?
Arsenal's link with the Madrid midfielder is somewhat surprising given that they signed both Lucas Torreira and Mateo Guendouzi last summer.
However, Man City's interest shouldn't come as too much of a shock given they will need to find a Fernandinho replacement soon.
The Brazilian is now 33 years of age and coming to the end of his career.
He is also suffering a fair few injuries this season as City try to compete across four competitions.
Fernandinho has missed City's last three league games through injury.
As a result of his age and the number of games Man City play each season, the Citizens really need to provide some support for their top holding midfielder.
