Jake Beesley scored twice against his former club as Solihull returned to winning ways with a 3-0 National League victory over struggling Chesterfield.
Beesley had a goal ruled out for offside in the opening exchanges, while George Carline fired an effort wide as the home side got off to a strong start.
On-loan Salford forward Beesley opened the scoring when he collected Gavin Gunning’s long ball forward before beating goalkeeper Shwan Jalal just before the half-hour.
Scott Boden headed wide as the visitors looked to level but Beesley doubled the hosts’ advantage when he slotted the ball home after 70 minutes.
Paul McCallum headed home a Tyrone Williams cross nine minutes later to seal the points as Solihull moved up to sixth, while the result leaves Chesterfield five points from safety.
