Following a long line of Hungarian Olympic swimming champions, Laszlo Cseh and Daniel Gyurta are the country's best hopes for gold at the London Games.

Cseh won three silver medals in Beijing four years ago, finishing behind American Michael Phelps each time, while Gyurta won silver at the 2004 Olympics in Athens in the 200 meter breaststroke.

Following on from a long line of Hungarian Olympic swimming champions, Laszlo Cseh and Daniel Gyurta are the country's best hopes for gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games this summer.

Both get the opportunity to test themselves ahead of the Olympics at the European Championships next week in the Hungarian city of Debrecen - and for 23 year old Gyurta, the event will provide him with the perfect preparation for the London games.

"It's for sure that I won't be in top shape, because I am saving that for the Olympics. I still have to work a lot both physically and mentally, but by the time of the Olympics I will be just right."

At 26, fellow hungarian Lazslo Cseh has been on the brink of Olympic supremacy for almost a decade with a haul of three Olympic silver medals to his name.

Cseh finished between Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte in the 400 and 200 metres individual medley in Beijing, with the growing rivalry between the three becoming fiercer year on year.

"I have all the medals from the Olympics, only the gold is missing. Naturally, this is what I get up for every day, I train every day to achieve it. I hope it will be possible. Much needs to be done for this, these rivals, whether Michael Phelps or Ryan Lochte are very, very good."

The London Olympics are now just weeks away - with Hungarians Cseh and Gyurta going for gold.
