Luna Rossa's yachts won a race apiece on Friday's second day of competition in the America's Cup World Series event in Venice, Italy.

The fifth and penultimate round of the 2011/12 America's Cup World Series continued in Venice, Italy on Friday with two more fleet races.

While conditions were perfect for racing, with moderate 8-10 knot winds, the challenge came in the the narrow race course.

Emirates Team New Zealand rounded the first marker in the lead in race one.

The Kiwi yacht, standings leader Energy Team and the two Luna Rossa boats - Swordfish and Piranha - were all in contention heading to the third marker.

It was Luna Rossa Swordfish who went on to claim the race win though, with Energy Team finishing in second place and Oracle Team Spithill third.

Crowd favourites Luna Rossa also tasted victory at the end of race two, although this time around it was sister boat Piranha who claimed the honours.

That yacht finished ahead of Energy Team in second and Oracle Team Spithill in third.
