SOUNDBITE (English): Janet Evans, Olympic hopeful
"I wish I would have gone faster. It didn't feel very good. It was nice to get the jitters out. I think my 800 will be better. It just wasn't what I wanted it to be, but it is what it is."

    Q. Any strategy?

"No, I think my speed is, obviously I didn't work much on my speed in the 400. This was definitely a warm up for the 800, so I felt like I was swimming an 800 event. I couldn't, I couldn't get going, you know?"

    Q. Did you realise you were twice as old as everyone in your heat?
"I think someone was saying there was a sixteen your old, who is closer in age to Sid, my daughter. She should come down here and swim. So yeah. It was so neat though. It was so neat to swim in the pool. I don't know it was cool. But I'm looking to kind of regroup and do better in my 800. My goal coming in was maybe to go somewhere in the 8:30's in my 800. So we don't know."
