Brazilian athletes arriving in London on Wednesday were greeted by less than tropical weather.

The beach volleyball court at Crystal Palace is a far cry from the Copacabana and squad members seemed more interested in touring the indoor facilities.

150 athletes will be based in South London and Brazilian team official, Marcus Freire, insists they will have some familiar faces joining them.

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Marcus Vinicius Freire, Brazilian Olympic Committee Sports Executive Superintendent
"In the last four years our athletes have had everything that they have asked for and I think that has made a difference. We have specialists in nine types of sports sciences with us here and I think that has really helped Brazilian athletes in the last world-wide competitions and it will help them in London too."

Brazil hope the facilities will help the nation meet their medal target of 15 in London.

The Brazilian Olympic Committee may already have one eye on the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016, but for the next few weeks, Crystal Palace will be their home from home.
