After a wash-out on Saturday, both the postponed women's final and the men's gold medal match were played on Sunday the 22nd of July at the A1 Grand Slam in Austria.

The women's event was won by the Russian pair of Ekaterina Khomyakova and Evgenia Ukolova who beat their Dutch opponents, Madelein Meppelink and Sophie van Gestel, 21-13, 25-27 and 15-10.

After dominating the first set, the Russian pair were caught a little off guard in the close second set, missing three match point opportunities before losing the set 25-27.

In the third and deciding tie-breaker, the Russians came out strong again and dominated to win the set and the match, 15-10.

The men's event was won by Richard Schuil and Reinder Nummerdor of the Netherlands who beat Brazil's Marcio Araujo and Pedro Salgado 14-21, 21-12 and 15-13 in the final.

The Dutch pair seemed to be uncertain of what their opponents tactics were in the first set and fell behind early and never really threatened in the set won by the Brazilians, 21-13.

In the close second set, the Dutch altered their strategy and squeezed out a 21-19 win and set the stage for the final set.

The Brazilians gave one more lunge at 12-13 and 13-14 before the match ended when Marcio's kill landed just outside the right sideline.

And so it was the Netherlands who took home the gold medal.
