Iconic Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps met his idol, NBA legend Michael Jordan on Monday (24 September) in Illinois at a recording for "Feherty Live", a talk show which airs on the Golf Channel.

Michael Phelps' big year just keeps getting better. 

The most decorated Olympian finally met his idol, basketball legend Michael Jordan, on Monday night. 

Jordan made a surprise appearance during a taping of talk show "Feherty Live," and Phelps was so overwhelmed he could barely speak. 

Phelps has taken up golf since retiring following the London Olympics and the pair were guests on the special Ryder Cup-themed edition of the show.

U.S. captain Davis Love III has made Jordan an honorary member of the American team.
