Michael Phelps made a big splash in the London Games pool this summer, winning six medals to take his career total to a record 22.

But the 27-year-old American will swap breaststroke for stroke play this week when he takes part in the Dunhill Links Championship pro-am in Scotland.

The 'Baltimore Bullet' played a practice round at St. Andrews on Wednesday alongside compatriot and actor Bill Murray - a renowned golf fan.

Of the six medals Phelps won in London, four were gold, taking his collection to 18 - double the number of the next most successful athletes on the list of all-time Olympic gold winners.

Phelps won't be the only Olympian taking part in the Dunhill Links pro-am - blade runner Oscar Pistorius of South Africa will be in the field, alongside British rowers Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent.

Of the professionals, European Ryder Cup winners Paul Lawrie, Peter Hanson and Martin Kaymer will all be in attendance, as will American Ryder Cup team member Dustin Johnson.
