The Lake of Tunis hosted the ninth Arab Rowing Championship.

Ten Arab countries participated in the three-day event, which included both senior and junior races.

Along with the host nation, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine and Sudan were all seeking medal success.

The competition included races in junior and senior ranks for both male and female rowers in single, double pair and double quad boats.

Tunisia performed well, picking up seven golds and four silvers, followed by Egypt, who claimed four golds, three silvers and four bronzes.

Third placed Algeria collected ten medals, two of them gold.

The competition allowed Arab teams to see how their preparations were going ahead of the Rowing World Cup, which takes place in Australia in February.
