    Script:

Twenty year old surfer Ezekiel Lau enjoyed the best victory of his career on Sunday, in the Vans World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach in Hawaii.

Lau made a late tube-riding charge from behind, to turn the tables on American Damien Hobgood and Brazil's Raoni Monteiro in the latter half of the 30-minute final.

Outside the top three fourth spot was taken by Portuguese Frederico Morais, who was named as the Triple Crown's Rookie of 2013.

And the winner Ezekiel Lau was evidently very happy, with how the day's surfing had gone.

SOUNDBITE (English) Ezekiel Lau, event winner:

"It's looking good for me. You know, just making the final was great and just to come out with the win just puts me in a better spot... my whole confidence and my whole game-plan in my head and everything. It's going to be a much better year next year."

Lau's win earned him $40,000 and saw him close the year at 35th in the ASP world rankings.
