Funny! Djokovic borrows umbrella from crowd in Paris

  • Novak Djokovic made light of another rain delay at the French Open on Tuesday (31st May) by borrowing a spectator's umbrella on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Play at Roland Garros was halted for the second day in a row, yet Novak Djokovic saw the funny side of things.

The world number one borrowed an umbrella from a spectator on Court Philippe Chatrier as he awaited news on when his fourth round tie against Roberto Bautista Agut would re-commence.

After just 40 minutes of play on Tuesday another bout of rain had caused play to be suspended.

Bautista Agut left with the upper hand having just won the set 6-3.

The match was originally supposed to take place on Monday (30th May), but was pushed back to the start of play on Tuesday (31st) after a complete washout of the day's contests.

The spectators on the main show court even gave a rendition of a song they'd made up for the World No.1.

Play is expected to resume later on Tuesday, with the weather showing signs of improving.

Britain's Andy Murray is expected third on court, following the completion of Djokovic's match and Serena Williams's.

Murray will play the final Frenchman in the tournament, Richard Gasquet.
