Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic could become the first all-French team to lift the women's doubles trophy at Roland Garros since 1971, if they could beat Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova on Saturday.

With the score at one set all a decisive break in the ninth game of the third set proved to be the crucial moment for Garcia and Mladenovic, as it put them on the verge of history.
