"I don't really want to go into what's happened as I wouldn't want Toni talking about my private life," Abbey says. "But the one thing I've got to say is that there are loads of footballers who are happily married and you don't hear anything about them."

That is as far as she will go when it comes to divulging details of her WAG friendships. (For the record, she's regularly in touch with Elen Rivas, 35, ex-girlfriend of Chelsea's Frank Lampard, 31, who she says is "doing great". Most recently, Elen was seen on Marco Pierre White's Kitchen Burnout). Not that Abbey would ever actually use the term WAG. She hates it.
