"I can't believe we're still talking about the WAG thing four years after the last World Cup when the media was going mad about it," she says. "It's so bizarre. It's like people are talking about someone else when I hear the word in relation to me."
While other footballing relationships have been in crisis, Abbey and Peter's has confounded the critics. It's fair to say that eyebrows were raised when they first got together four years ago after meeting at a friend's party in Liverpool. Some cynics questioned her motives, and even Crouchy himself seemingly couldn't believe his luck. When asked what he'd be if he wasn't a footballer, he famously quipped "a virgin".
