Stockport made it three away wins in four unbeaten matches with a crushing 5-1 victory at Torquay.
Hatters goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe made a superb save to keep out Ramarni Medford-Smith’s volley after 28 minutes.
Tom Walker was denied by Shaun MacDonald at the other end shortly afterwards, before Nyal Bell saw a shot come back off the crossbar.
Stockport made a blistering start to the second half, with Walker slotting in the rebound from a saved Bell shot to open the scoring after 47 minutes.
It was two three minutes later when Bell flicked Elliot Osborne’s cross past the goalkeeper and Osborne added a third just after the hour with a smart finish from 12 yards.
Torquay pulled a goal back 15 minutes from time when Ben Whitfield slammed the ball past Hinchliffe from the edge of the box, but substitute Devante Rodney curled in a fourth for Stockport in the 86th minute.
Frank Mulhern capped a superb afternoon for the visitors with a fifth from close range in the last seconds of stoppage time.
