    Saudi Arabian 400-metre runner Youcef Mesrahi spoke in glowing terms about his country's efforts at the 2012 London Olympics and was quick to speak of his pride and admiration for compatriot Sara Attar, who is set to represent the Kingdom in the 800-metres during the summer Games.

    "Thanks to God and the government and the Saudi athletics federation there is more focus on the future of athletics. If we don't achieve something today the future is bright. We have Ibrahim Bernaoui who won bronze in the Barcelona World Junior Championship. The future for the next generation is good."

    "The Saudi female athlete is Saudi Arabia's first woman to compete and we wish her luck. We pray for her to succeed, she has the future ahead of her."
