Jordan is taking part in five sports at London 2012 - their team of nine athletes have performed in Athletics, Swimming, Boxing, Taekwondo and Equestrianism.
However 100m runner Rima Taha says the ethos back home needs to change in order to progress.
SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Rima Taha, 100m runner:
"To be honest, we have to train more and dedicate time to training only and not work or studies. We need to focus solely on training to achieve results."
Both Taha and sixteen year-old swimmer Talita Baqlah recorded personal bests at London, an impressive feat given the poor facilities in Jordan, as swimming coach Ali Nawaish explains.
SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ali Nawaish, Jordan swimming coach:
"The main problem in Jordan is that we only have one 50-metre swimming pool - in the open air. We don't have any 50-metre indoor pools. The summer period for us is too short, two months, and he rest of the year the pool is closed. Also, swimming is not a popular sport in the Arab world and Jordan."
The kingdom has never won a medal at an Olympic Games, but with these athletes battling adversity to fly the flag, the future can only get better.
