Following his three-gold medal haul at the London Olympics, Usain Bolt took a helicopter ride over the Swiss Alps before celebrating his 26th birthday near Lake Geneva on Tuesday, two days before he returns to action at the Athletissima in Lausanne, the 11th meeting in the 2012 Diamond League series.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Usain Bolt, Jamaican sprinter:
(On the London 2012 Olympics). "Well for me, initially I was just there to defend my titles. It was never about the world records because I have the world records so I don't have to really worry about trying to go faster. It was just all about winning, defending my titles and doing something that no-one's ever done before."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Usain Bolt, Jamaican sprinter:
(On Athletissima, the international athletics meeting of Lausanne and part of the Diamond League).
"Well, it's a yearly thing, Athletissima is a yearly thing. As I said earlier, I haven't been here (for) a couple of years, but I'll be competing in 200 metres against a great field. I've seen the list of guys which is wonderful. Four of the guys were in the finals of the 200 with me (at the London Olympics), so it's going to be a great field. So it should be a great competition. As I said, the fans here are wonderful. I remember one year I was here and it was raining, and they (the fans) 'sticked' (i.e. stayed) in the rain and they watched me compete. So for me that just was wonderful because not everybody's going to stand in rain and watch somebody race, so that was nice."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Usain Bolt, Jamaican sprinter:
(On the future). "It's just about making different goals. There's a lot of different things I can do in the sport. My coach wants me to do 400 metres. I want to try long jump. You could always try to aim for the records again. So there's different things, but after the season we'll decide what we want to do and work on that next season."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Usain Bolt, Jamaican sprinter:
(On the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro). "Yeah definitely, without a doubt I'll be there. As long as I'm fit and I'm ready, I'll be there. It'll be a little bit harder... (laughs)."
