Japanese man breaks four-limbed sprint record

Friday, November 16 2012 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Japanese athlete Kenichi Ito maintained his status as the world's fastest man on four limbs on Thursday as he ran a 100-metre track in Tokyo in 17.47 seconds, breaking his own record from 2008.

    Script:

It is bizarre warm up method but Kenichi Ito is a pioneer.

Ok, that may be going a bit too far.

But just look at him go!

You may be asking yourself why?

Well, this is the result of nine years dedication...to becoming the fastest man on four limbs, of course.

And that is official - 17.47 seconds over 100m.

The Japanese hero uses the technique in his day job as a janitor and he claims that cleaning the floor on all four limbs rather than using a mop has been the secret to his success.

Ito's next aim is to beat Usain Bolt's world record of 9.58 seconds, but that was a bit easier - anyone can run on two limbs.

Anyway, off he goes for another nine years of training.
