Lithuanian pair Justinas Kinderis and Laura Asadauskaite took gold on Saturday in the men and women's combined event at the World Championships in Taiwan.

World number four Justinas Kinderis took the men's World Championships gold ahead of Nicholas Woodbridge and Aleksander Lesun.

The 26-year-old had started the running and shooting event four seconds adrift of Lesun, after finishing third in the fencing and 16th in the pool.

However, his precise shooting and strong run saw him clinch the title of world champion.

Earlier, his Lithuanian compatriot Laura Asadauskaite had taken the women's crown. Asadauskaite's impressive shooting and run saw her add to her Olympic title.

The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist saw off Yane Marques of Brazil, who took silver with compatriot Donata Rimasaite settling for bronze.
