    Script:

The Belgian capital gets struck by a lightning bolt.

The world's fastest man wins yet again in the 100 metres at the Memorial Van Damme meet in Brussels.

After a poor start, Usain Bolt's acceleration over the second half of the race was again the difference in a race featuring six of the finalists from the World Championships in Moscow.

Michael Rodgers of the United States was second in 9.90, a season's best for him.

Nesta Carter, bronze medalist in Moscow, was third in 9.94.

Olympic and world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce exploded out of the blocks to destroy the field in the women's 100-metres.

A meeting record 10.72 for the Jamaican - 0.01 seconds off the world lead.

America's Alexandria Anderson was a distant second in 10.97 with another Jamaican, Carrie Russell, completing the podium with a mark of 10.99 seconds.

Performance of the night probably belonged to Mohammed Aman.

The world champion from Ethiopia ran by far the quickest 800-metres of 2013, a blistering one minute, 42.37 seconds, becoming the only runner to go under 1:43 this year.

In the 200-metres, Warren Weir held off fellow-Jamaican Nickel Ashmeade to win in 19.87.

Ashmeade clocked 19.93, his best for 2013. Walter Dix of the United States also ran a season best for him of 20.12 in third.

The USA's Natasha Hastings won the women's 400-metres in 50.36 seconds.

Botswana's Amantle Montsho was second in 50.41 with Antonina Krivoshapka of Russia third.

In the women's 100-metres hurdles, Dawn Harper-Nelson held off Sally Pearson.

12.48 seconds for the American - 12.63 for Pearson. Cindy Billaud of France was third.
