Badminton semi-finals take place in Shanghai

    Home badminton favourite Chen Long and Wang Shixian reached the final of men's and women's singles of the Victor China Open 2013 on Saturday (Nov 16th) at Yuanshen Gymnasium, China.


    The semi-finals of the badminton China Open took place on Saturday in Shanghai, China.

    In men's doubles, South Korea pair, Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeon Seong faced the third seeded Japanese pairing, winning 19-21, 21-19, 21-11.

    In mixed doubles, No.2 seeded Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir from Indonesia beat their Korean opponents in just 26 minutes: 21-9, 21-11.

    China's Wang Shixian, the seventh-seeded women's singles player, continued her good form in the semi-finals progressing 21-13, 21-5.

    In the men's singles, World number two Chen Long played Chong Wei Feng from Malaysia for a place in the final.

    Chen faced tough challenge from Chong at the start of the match but the defending champion gradually took control to in 47 minutes, 21-18, 21-7.
