Farah ready for marathon challenge

Tuesday, February 04 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

The town of Iten in western Kenya has unveiled the first-ever tartan track outside of the Kenyan capital Nairobi - and it was officially opened by some famous long-distance athletes, including double Olympic and double world champion Mo Farah and the women's marathon world record holder, Paula Radcliffe.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Mo Farah, 10,000 and 5,000 metres Olympic and world champion:
"And for me, it's come to the right year. There's no major championship apart from the Europeans which I have done before and the Commonwealths, so it is a great year to test myself and to see how good I can be at marathon. It's something that I would like to do and I have records from 1,500 metres upwards, so it would be nice to have another British record at the same time."
