Tuesday, February 04 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

The town of Iten in western Kenya has unveiled the first-ever tartan track outside of the Kenyan capital Nairobi - and it was officially opened by some famous long-distance athletes, including double Olympic and double world champion Mo Farah and the women's marathon world record holder, Paula Radcliffe.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Paula Radcliffe, women's marathon world record holder:
"We already have an amazing environment for training with the altitude, with the trails and just with the understanding of distance running that the community of Iten has. And now to have this track here, I think that really puts the icing on the cake in terms of people being able to come here and prepare and know that they have the all-weather track here."
