    Former 100 metre record holder Asafa Powell appears in court in Kingston, Jamaica, on Wednesday (12th February) on drugs charges.

    Former 100 metre record holder Asafa Powell appeared in a Jamaican court on Wednesday charged with doping.

    The hearing follows a positive test result for a banned substance in June last year. Powell was joined in court by his legal team and members of his family - including his father William Powell.

    And lead attorney Kwame Gordon said that he had no comment for the media - except that the talk after legal proceedings had concluded.

    The 31 year old won relay Gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The hearing was adjourned until February 26th for final submissions.
